About the Author: Ronda Jean Friend launched Sunflower Seeds Press, a children's publishing company with the mission of reaching children's hearts and minds by sowing seeds of a different kind.

She named her company in honor of her friend, Carol Ann, who died too young. At her funeral, sunflower seeds were given out to represent the seeds of kindness, love, patience, forgiveness she had sown in the lives of so many. On the back of each book, you will find a Seal of the Sun that represents the seeds of character the book highlights.

R. Friend Visit: Ronda Friend will combine storytelling, music, audience participation, puppets, guest appearances, tons of humor, and encouraging character building lessons. Everyone will be introduced to life before there were malls, cell phones, ipods and x-boxes in this 45 minute, fast paced presentation.

As an author, she has visited over 600 schools across the United States and has shared with over 400,000 students her love of storytelling, music, fine arts, reading, and, most importantly, her love of family and friends.
